1. About us

Kynda Learning is operated by Daniel Thompson (“we”, “us”, “our”). We provide private music lessons, group workshops, and digital learning resources in South London and online.

Website: kyndalearning.co.uk

By booking a lesson, making a purchase, or using the Kynda Learning student portal, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

2. Lessons

Taster lessons

We offer a free introductory taster lesson for new students. This is a single session and does not constitute a commitment to ongoing lessons on either side.

Scheduling

Regular lessons are booked on a recurring basis by mutual agreement. Lesson times are confirmed between the student (or their guardian) and Daniel directly.

Cancellations by the student

We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged in full at our discretion. We understand that emergencies happen and will always try to be reasonable.

Cancellations by us

If we need to cancel a lesson, we will give as much notice as possible and offer a rescheduled session at no extra charge.

Students under 18

Where a student is under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on their behalf and remain the primary point of contact for lesson arrangements and billing.

3. Payments and subscriptions

Monthly subscriptions

Ongoing lessons are billed monthly via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically on the same date each month until cancelled.

Cancelling your subscription

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Stripe customer portal, accessible from your Kynda Learning account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will not be charged again after that date. No partial refunds are issued for unused days within a billing period.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, Stripe will retry automatically. We will contact you if payment cannot be collected. Lessons may be paused until outstanding balances are resolved.

Price changes

We will give at least 30 days' notice of any changes to lesson pricing. Continued subscription after that notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.

4. Digital products

We sell digital resources (such as the Engine Guide series) as one-time purchases. Because digital products are delivered immediately upon purchase, they are non-refundable once downloaded or accessed, in accordance with Regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

If you experience a technical issue with a digital product, please contact us at hello@kyndalearning.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve it.

5. Student portal

The Kynda Learning student portal is provided as part of your lesson subscription. Access is personal to you and must not be shared with others.

Portal access is suspended automatically if your subscription becomes inactive. Lesson files and resources uploaded to your portal remain accessible for a reasonable period after a subscription ends, at our discretion.

6. Intellectual property

All materials provided through Kynda Learning — including lesson notes, workbooks, practice guides, and digital resources — are the intellectual property of Daniel Thompson trading as Kynda Learning. They are provided for your personal use only and may not be reproduced, shared, or resold without written permission.

7. Conduct

We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. We reserve the right to end lessons with a student (or the use of the portal) if behaviour is abusive, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate, without refund for any remaining subscription period.

8. Liability

We take care to provide high-quality instruction and resources. However, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes from lessons or digital products. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant service.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

9. Privacy

How we collect and use your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify active students of material changes by email. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last revised. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
